Rebecca Bortman is the lead designer and first employee of MasterClass, an education start-up launching later this year. Before taking the start-up plunge, she worked as a design consultant at Cooper and Mule and most recently as a user experience designer at YouTube. There she led design on the first major visual refresh in YouTube's then 7-year history. She also art directed & branded The Disposable Film Festival for its first 6 seasons. She is a graduate on Carnegie Mellon's School of Design and a proud Pittsburgher. Design trivia fact: Rebecca designed the graphics, cover, and layout for About Face 3: The Essentials of Interaction Design at her first job out of school. She is also the lead singer of the B&W war-painted rock band, Happy Fangs.
